Our Recent Projects

Success in Daylight and Sunlight Performance for these significant new developments

502 New Houses and Apartments, South Co Dublin

We have recently completed full daylight and sunlight performance assessment and neighbour impact analysis on this prestigious new project in South Co Dublin, Ireland.

The scheme comprised 28 different apartment blocks and multiple ranges of houses in duplex and terrace arrangements.

Our mission was particularly challenging due to the north facing sloped topography of the sited combined having significant number of neighbours to our south and at a lower level than our proposed homes.

We worked over 8 months with the architects and clients to achieve a successful outcome across all daylight sunlight and neighbour impact metrics. The project is currently in the planning system.

7 Apartment Blocks, County Dublin

This important new social and affordable housing project was recently lodged for planning permission in County Dublin

The scheme comprised 129 apartments, and houses over 7 different blocks and terraces of differing forms, layouts and orientations across a sloped site

Our services included spatial daylight autonomy, sunlight exposure and amenity sunlight calculations and reporting across all blocks.

We provided rapid iteration feedback to the architects who merged our suggested design adjustments seamlessly into their workflow to minimise delays and ensure the vast majority of dwellings successfully achieved the required targets

Secondary School Expansion, Co Cork

The planning authority requested the client provide detailed assessments of the risk to neighbours' amenity sunlight and daylight at this large new educational project in County Cork.

Taking the architects BIM model and adding the geometry of 30 neighbouring houses, back gardens and  vegetation we were  able to assess and report on the potential for impacts  quickly.

In this case we showed that impacts were minimal and set out the case for approval  on the grounds of competing priorities such as societal benefit and good urban design as allowed for in the guidance on how to interpret daylight and sunlight results for planning authorities.

The project is in the planning system with a positive result expected soon.
